Howard L. Turner Post 276 - Veterans Serving Veterans

Greetings, fellow Legionnaires!

As summer comes to a close and we head into fall, I want to thank everyone who continues to support Post 276. Whether you attend our meetings, volunteer at an event, support our fundraisers, visit the Lounge, or simply renew your membership each year, your participation helps keep our Post strong.

The past several months have been busy, and I am proud of the continued progress we are making throughout the Post. Our success does not happen because of one individual or one organization. It comes from Legionnaires, Auxiliary, SAL, and volunteers working together toward a common purpose — supporting veterans, their families, and our community.

If you have visited the Post recently, you probably noticed significant improvements. We have completed painting throughout the interior of the Post, giving our building a much-needed fresh and updated appearance. We have also installed new carpet in the hallway, another important improvement that makes a noticeable difference throughout our facility.

I want to emphasize how important membership is to our success. I encourage everyone to renew their membership as early as possible and, just as importantly, help us recruit the next generation of Legionnaires. If you know an eligible veteran who is not currently a member of The American Legion, invite them to visit our Post. Bring them to an event, introduce them to other members, and show them what our Post offers. Sometimes all it takes is a personal invitation.

September and October will bring another busy schedule at the Post. Our SAL Squadron will host its Crab Feast on September 26, and we will continue hosting Honor Flights. October will also bring the Auxiliary Kids Halloween Party, a Dinner and Comedy show, along with our regular dinners, entertainment, meetings, and other activities.

Please take a few minutes to review the calendar and flyers included in this issue of The Turner Times. Something is always happening at Post 276, and I encourage everyone to come out and participate.

God bless you all!
