Commander's Corner

Greetings Legionnaires!

As we approach the final months of 2026, I want to thank everyone who has helped make this a productive year for Howard L. Turner Post 276. Our Post depends on members who show up, lend a hand, and support our mission of serving veterans, their families, and our community.

We’ll begin November with our Early Bird Celebration on Saturday, November 7. It’s an opportunity to enjoy good food and fellowship while celebrating our members’ continued commitment to the Post. If you haven’t renewed your 2027 membership, please do so. Your renewal helps sustain the programs and activities that make Post 276 a place we can all be proud of.

On Wednesday, November 11, at 9:00 a.m., please join us for our Veterans Day Ceremony. We will gather to honor the men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces and recognize the sacrifices they and their families have made. I encourage you to attend and help us show our appreciation to our fellow veterans.

November and December also bring opportunities to spend time together and support our Legion family. Please review the calendars and flyers in this issue and visit our website for upcoming events. Whether you attend a dinner, volunteer, or bring a friend to the Post, your participation makes a difference.

As Thanksgiving and Christmas approach, please remember those who may be spending the holidays alone or facing difficult circumstances. A phone call, a visit, or an invitation to join you can mean more than you realize. Looking after one another is an important part of who we are.

I am grateful to our officers, employees, volunteers, Legionnaires, Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion for everything you do. The time and care you give to this Post help us continue serving those who count on us.

On behalf of the Post officers, I wish you and your families a meaningful Veterans Day, a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and a safe and Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you at the Post.

God Bless You All.
