Welcome To Howard L. Turner Post 276 Website

Founded in 1956, The Howard L. Turner Post 276 of the American Legion is located in Severn Maryland. The post was named after Private First Class Howard L. Turner raised near the town of Severn Maryland. PFC Turner was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on March 31, 1951.

MESSAGE FROM THE COMMANDER - Update as of 6/1/2020

Post #276 will re-open on Friday June 5th at 4pm to 9pm.  Outside seating Only and weather permitting.  Everyone must follow all social distancing including the use of mask.  You can purchase pizza and chips and at this time we are allowing members to bring food to enjoy outside.  Seating is limited and we will have limited capacity.  The post will also open on Saturday from noon to 8pm and Sunday from noon to 5pm.



  • General Membership Meetings.
    The Post Commander is asking Legionnaires to attend our Monthly General Membership Meetings.  They happen every second Thursday of the Month at 1900hrs.  We need your support and ideas, so please join us.  Click here for our calendar of events.

  • Post Officer Positions Open  
    The Commander is looking to fill the Post Chaplain position.  Interested persons should contact any post official, and they will forward the information to The Commander.
